The Big Bang of Happiness

Hello, everyone! It’s with immense joy, a bit of sleep deprivation, and a whole lot of love that I announce the arrival of the newest member of our family – our son, A-Bomb*! Just like his name suggests, he’s made a big, explosive impact on our lives!

The Stats: A Mighty Arrival

A-Bomb made his grand entrance into the world weighing a solid 8 pounds 13 ounces and stretching a whole 22 inches long. That’s right, folks, he’s already setting records in our family book! He was bigger than either Spider-Man* or Bonecrusher.* And for those of you wondering, he’s as healthy as a young, robust future Hulk, thankfully!

A Unique Personality: Early Likes and Quirks

Even in these early days, A-Bomb is showing us his unique personality. He’s already a budding sports fan, seemingly fascinated with SEC football, watching the games with Dad with wide, curious eyes. (I could practically hear him gurgle MIZ-ZOU!)

He’s also displaying an unexpected love for 70s rock music – it’s as if the tunes from that era soothe him in a way nothing else can. From Creedence Clearwater Revival to Carole King to Queen, he’s already grooving down.

And let’s not forget his favorite pastime: taking long, peaceful naps while basking in the warm Florida sun. He’s got good taste…must’ve inherited it from Mom.

A Journey Full of Anticipation

As most of you have been following our journey through this pregnancy (which, let’s be honest, felt longer than a marathon at times), you know it’s been a rollercoaster of emotions, scans, tests, and enough ultrasound pics to fill a 3-volume photo album.

The Labor Saga: A Story Worth Telling

Let’s talk about the labor! Oh, what a saga! 23-and-a-half hours. Granted, I didn’t do the hard part, so now I’m trying to make up for that with my share of dirty diapers. The actual delivery was a cross between a sitcom and a horror pic. Neither the OB nor the midwife were present for the delivery (because the delivery unit was crazy, popping babies quicker than a bag of Orville Redenbacher in a microwave set on high!)

Needless to say, good ol’ Dad was there to get A-Bomb. It happened so unexpectedly that the nurse couldn’t get there in time either…instead, she accidentally ripped the entire emergency call unit out of the wall of the delivery room. (She was strong!) She was screaming, “I broke the room!” while alarms kept blaring. When the doctor arrived, she said, “Congratulations, Dad, you just delivered your son!” (Never…again.)

First Glimpse: Love at First Sight

The moment A-Bomb was born, it was love at first sight. There he was, a wriggly bundle of joy, already with a personality bigger than his size. I swear he looked at me with a gaze that said, “Hey Dad, get ready!” And let me tell you, we are ready (or as ready as possible with three rough and rowdy boys!)

Why A-Bomb?

We’ve had some raised eyebrows about his nickname, ‘A-Bomb.’ Let me clarify – it’s a term of endearment! Our little guy has already exploded our hearts with love and turned our world upside down in the best way possible. (His brothers are huge superhero fans and named him after the Blue Hulk.) Plus, it’s a cool nickname, isn’t it?

The Adventure Begins

As we embark on this new adventure, we’re bracing ourselves for sleepless nights, endless diaper changes, and countless firsts that we can’t wait to experience. We’re also excited to share these moments with all of you, our extended online family. You can laugh with us and, hopefully, learn with (or from) us.
