What is my ideal week? Hmm….
The Great Escape
Imagine a week where the buzz of notifications doesn’t dictate your every move. A week where you’re surrounded only by the laughter and stories of your loved ones. (Of course, for me, that would also mean that Spider-Man* and Bonecrusher* would never argue…) That’s my ideal week. A week of pure, undiluted family time.
Unplugging from the Matrix
In today’s digital age, it’s easy to get lost in the endless cycle of emails, social media, and work calls. Ned Hallowell, MD, talks about 6 different “Distraction Syndromes” and how they can be detrimental to our well-being. My ideal week involves unplugging from this chaos, taking a “deloading” phase, as Tim Ferris puts it, to rejuvenate and reconnect with what truly matters.
Relax, Breathe, Repeat
Relaxation is not just about lying on a beach, though that does sound awesome. It’s about immersing oneself in the present moment, whether that’s playing board games with the family, reading a book, or simply watching the sunset.
Coffee: The Elixir of Life

No week is complete without great coffee. Whether it’s the aroma of freshly brewed coffee in the morning or the taste of a perfectly made espresso, coffee is the silent companion that adds a little oomph to each day. The ideal week would include at least one different type or style of coffee each day. I can already smell it brewing!
In essence, my ideal week is about balance. It’s a blend of relaxation, family time, and of course, great coffee. It’s a reminder that sometimes, we need to step back, take a deep breath, and savor the simple joys of life.
