It has been some time since the last post when we were hunkering down during hurricane Ian here in Florida. To keep this very brief, we are fine, and we did not suffer any structural damage to our home. Some of the trees in our yard were damaged, and we had to shovel a couple inches of sludge and muck from our drive…but we are so thankful and grateful.
We were without internet for five days. Unlike other members of my family who were without power for days, our power was quickly restored.
HUGE shout-out to all the utility workers here in Florida and to all the volunteers who have traveled here to help the areas that were greatly devastated by the hurricane.
Our family is praying for those whose lives have been upended and devastated by this disaster.
Regardless of where you live, you can help either our region (or even your own, for example, by donating blood) by going to the website for the American Red Cross.
I know that because of this disaster I have been hugging my boys a little tighter each day. I never want a day to go by that they don’t hear me tell them how much I love them and how grateful I am that I am blessed to be their Dad.
